A Long Walk to Janet's House

Janet invited our family to her house for Lunch on Monday.  Monday was Maharaka Day (Kenya's Independence Day from the British).    The walk turned into a 2 hour adventure.
After two stream crossings, a climb up a steep gully, a rest for the girls to cool off, stoppint to ask for directions we found Janet's house.
We enjoyed a typical Kenyan meal of rice, beans, meat, Mendazi, and Chai with Janet's family.  Afterwards we walked through their garden and the girls watched Richard milk his two Cows.  Then a long walk back home.

Impressive that Janet makes that walk twice each day, and impressive that Amelia made it too.

Sounds like a tame meal. No dog heart or elephant eye. You will treasure the assurrance that you are accepted by the local community. We also have enjoyed humble meals with the humble of the earth. grampie
