I had the pleasure of standing on the rooftop of Africa by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania with 5 new friends from Michigan. All 6 of us were successful in climbing up to the crater and to Gillman's Point and then on to the final summit at Uhuru Peak (Kilimanjaro has a 75% success rate). We reached the summit at 5 AM--very dark and so cold that our water bottles had frozen despite being wrapped in socks. That's so cool, Malin! I'm glad you made it and it sounds like it was a blast. I'm really impressed you didn't get any altitude sickness. I can't wait to hear more about the trip in detail!
